Gandhara Exhibition

The exhibition covered the (Buddhist) heritage of Gandhara in Afghanistan (Kabul river valley) from the beginning until its end with all developments through the ages. Despite the significance of Gandhara art in the cultural development of the region and the high quality of the collection in the National Museum of Afghanistan it has never been adequately presented to the public. The exhibition opened around Afghan New Year, in March 2012. The museum staff worked on an exhibition design plan, lightning plan and object background colour options together with our local partner, all to engage in what it means to set up an exhibition from scratch.
